Churyo SATO

Hat,Summer < Hat,Summer >

1972

Bronze
105*59*42.5cm
The brim of the hat is employed very effectively as a motif. Consideration is given to the space between the hat and the slightly dropped shoulders, while the forward leaning hat contrasts with the feet standing lightly on tiptoe; there is even device in the angle and placement of the arms. With the woman's flexible yet firm build, along with the sense of presence of the work's refreshingly lyrical expression, the viewer can feel the tension in the air around the work.
