Nomaguchi, who studied under Shinya Nakamura, has been actively participating in both the Hakujitsu and the Nitten Exhibitions. While employing a figurative form of expression, he has never been satisfied with the reproduction of a realistic approach; rather, he has always been trying to find a revolutionary style of expression, as if to find out the reason for his own existence. Since the mid 1990's, he has been creating a series of work on the theme "To Fly." This is one of his series of work entitled "ARIA," meaning sky in Italian. The powerful wings that flap against the force of gravity boldly and elegantly illustrate the infinite space around the work.
