Sunao IKEGAWA

The Memory of Boy III < The Memory of Boy III >

1998

Bronze
200*70*60cm
Since the 1980's, Ikegawa has been actively participating in the Hakujitsu Exhibition as well as in the Nitten Exhibition. Many of his monumental works are installed in schools and other public places. As his theme, the artist deals with the young and fresh human body and the soul or spirit that lives within it. One of the characteristics of his work is that he portrays the whole body with precise mass and volume, creating a bracing impression. This particular work illustrates the artist's insecure feelings as a youth. The floating image and the face expressing the desire to chase after hope represent Ikegawa's pure and naive style of expression.
