Kozo NISHINO

It Is Breezing < It Is Breezing >

2000

Titanium alloy, cor-ten steel

900*810*420cm
(wings at the horizontal position)
An iron foundation, though rusting in red, firmly sits on the ground of Kirishima -nobody knows from when it has been there. The wings resting on top are of sea birds as gulls and haglets.
Their wings taking the invisible wind and air streams, let the birds slowly soar high in the sky against the Kagoshima Bay lying far underneath. They assimilate themselves with the wind almost before you realize it, and blend with nature.
From such an image, this work was born.
Sitting in the museum's cafeteria and attentively looking out the window, you may see the dark and light of the wind and time that has pass.
