Earth:Red & Black < Earth:Red & Black >

1999

Granite, gabbro

Globular shape(2):Φ125cm
The place is a forest, covered with a small bamboo thicket, where people can stroll listening to the rustling of leaves, in the sunbeams shining through the oak and maple branches.
In the space are placed two globes named "Earth" symbolizing the ground's condensed energy.
The object has a surface like an atmospheric vortex and exchanges courtesies with nature in this place, reflecting the delicate changes of light coming through the trees and the wind shaking the leaves.
I chose a combination of red and black granite of the same size and shape of the smallest unit that gives, not only an idea of the binary nature of yin and yang or light and shade, but through the subtle differences and changes of the surroundings, a feeling of the expansion of various viewpoints and sensations.
I sincerely hope that people who visit this place will experience a richer space and thoughts in this forest.
