Aoki Noe Sculpture Exhibition “Mist and Mountain”

Aoki Noe Sculpture Exhibition "Mist and Mountain"

Aoki Noe is a sculptor whose work consists of cutting iron into circles and fine strips; welding them together as she sees fit for that particular time and place. Pieces of iron, seemingly light, organic and malleable; freed from the forces of gravity and giving us a feeling of nature and the cycle of life, give the viewer a sense of oneness with the artwork; surrounded by so many plates and rods of iron.

This exhibition is to be composed mainly of new iron artwork, where the entire exhibition space will be linked together and created to convey the theme of “mist and mountains” to symbolize the natural beauty of Kirishima, wherein viewers can enjoy a world quite apart from their everyday existence. Come and experience a world of “universal beauty” that the artist – who herself highly values the stories learned through sights and sounds encountered throughout her life — has come to seek through her deep exploration of folklore and cultural anthropology.
